1958年 15歳 この年、ブライアン・オールディス『寄港地のない船』刊行。
1966年 23歳 処女作「逃走」をSF Impulse 誌上で発表。
その後 Impulse, New Worlds, New Writings in SF に短篇を寄稿。
1968年 25歳 この年、キース・ロバーツ『パヴァーヌ』刊行。
また、アーシュラ・K・ル＝グウィン『ゲド戦記』シリーズが刊行を開始。
1969年 26歳 Harrogate International Festival of the Arts でゲスト講演。
