同じ惑星ハイデリン(アーテリス)に暮らす生物という点においては人類と蛮族に本質的な違いは無い。この惑星においてもっとも大きく、かつ広域的な「人類が主体となり構築された社会」に属しているか、そうでないかだけの違いである。

蛮族

蛮族とは元は侵略者たるガレマール帝国が自国兵の侵略行為に対する抵抗心を下げ士気を高める為、または純粋な差別心から他国民又は人種以外の先住民族を見下し「野蛮で原始的な先住民族」という意味で呼んだ蔑称で、その蛮族が信仰する神を「蛮神」と呼んだ事が始まりである。今ではそういった蔑称としての意味はなく、単に人種とは別の文化、社会を築く民族という意味で使用されている。
