■Definition of Accelerationism
・Accelerationism refers to the ideological position that seeks to overthrow existing systems and values by accelerating the process of capitalism.
・Contemporary accelerationism was proposed by Nick Land, drawing on the ideas of Deleuze and Guattari.
・The position known as accelerationism has been advocated separately by Marx, Nietzsche, and others in the past, but contemporary accelerationism (after Land) can be said to be cut off from the explicit influence of Marx and Nietzsche's ideas in the history of thought.
As a premise for discussing accelerationism, it might be helpful to study Libertarianism, etc. Since there is still no definitive version of Accelerationism, there are many intuitive discussions. Personally, I interpret it as a meta-antithesis of Capitalism. As a premise, deepening Capitalism. is self-destructive. Occasionally, it is impressive that it includes elements of Cybernetics and SF. I have the impression that it expects "something new that cannot be predicted" in Singularity (which can be interpreted as destruction or imagination). So what happens when we reach the "singularity" of the future? Land is frank in saying that no one knows. We can only accept and welcome the completely unknown "event" that arrives from the "outside" beyond the singularity.
\s\s\s\sIn Japan, you can feel a similar atmosphere to Yoichi Ochiai of today, but on the other hand, there is a sense of actually doing "society". According to some sources, Masaya Chiba had previously talked about humanities-related topics. In the context of art, you can feel a similar atmosphere to dammtype, and there is a sense of postmodernism from technology and the body, accelerating capitalism, and previous companies, interviews and appearances related to oneself.icon. https://gyazo.com/fb795df853c4b24d1e93f99d7051fce1\n\sCan accelerating techno-zombies become Techno-Brahman? Part 2 has a similar atmosphere (?). Several interesting comments are quoted from 【Memo】Accelerated Memo.\n\s\sHifumi Nakayama\n\s\s\s>Accelerationism - and Neo-Reaction as well, in fact - confronts us with the question of what we want the future to be like, constantly putting it to ourselves.\n\s\sMasaya Chiba\n\s\s\s>What interests me about this topic is the need to rethink the concept of progress or "the future" in modern times.\n\s\sShinji Miyadai\n\s\s\s> "If you fall, fall, and fall hard. Once you hit bottom you have no choice but to start over." The idea is that if you're going to fall, you might as well fall quickly.\n\s\s\s> Incidentally, I remember that Shinji Miyadai expressed his support for Donald Trump as almost the only intellectual during the 2016 US presidential election, saying that Trump was the biggest piece of shit and that there was no point in falling any further.)\n\s\s\s\sPersonally, I can relate to this.Previous companies, interviews and appearances related to oneself.icon\n\s\sToshiro Sawa\n\s\s\s> Accelerationism aims at the retrieval and alternative reconstruction of modernity in the end of history (a grand narrative), and in this sense I want to call Accelerationism "Alternative Modernity (another modernity)" rather than postmodernism (after modernity).\n\n\n\sA tweet that conveyed accelerationism without using the word acceleration was really good. It seems that we can get a response and empathy from this simplicity. — Kaho Miyake (@m3_myk) February 25, 2021
The writing is so good, it's accelerating~ tkgshn.icon*4
Because culture is complex and diverse, it seems to endure for future generations precisely because it cannot be understood immediately (although I don't think that's the only reason). To leave behind a rich culture and scholarship, it is essential to cultivate an audience that can resist a society that seeks simplicity. It's an important story.

There were also some interesting things in the quoted RT.

Oh, I remember... Maybe I was saying all those unnecessary things at the Foucault reading group the day before yesterday, quoting Michel Foucault and Zen, because I wanted to say this. https://t.co/T5lctR4Xpz — Nui Sata 2.0 (@satanui11) February 25, 2021
Is Foucault that kind of person? I'm curious. Previous companies, interviews and appearances related to oneself.icon
