They basically mean the same thing that something is harmful.
Although poisonous is mostly used to describe harmful plants and animals. "Be careful that snake is poisonous."
While you can use toxic to describe multiple things. "Don't breath the air it's toxic." "My friend was in a toxic relationship." Hope that helps.
