increase: 税金・価格・割合・分量などが増加すること. 増加内容を表す場合は in, 増加の幅を表す場合は from … to などの前置詞が後続する e.g. The number of private universities has increased from 100 to 200.: 私立大学の数は100から200に増加した
grow: 物の数量・サイズ・程度などが増大すること. 時に増加内容を表す in number, popularity, proportion, rate, size などが後続する. e.g. Their gain is growing at a constant/remarkable rate.: 彼らの利益は着実に/特筆すべき割合で増えている
multiply: 物の数量・度合いなどが増加すること. 時に昆虫や細菌などの増殖を含意する e.g. The number of the troubles multiplied rapidly.: トラブルの数が急に増えた
