無知の知
Assuming the existence of the unknown, Socrates, at the age of 37, received an Oracle at the Temple of Apollo stating, "There is no one wiser than Socrates," and ultimately arrived at the truth of Complete Understanding of Oracles by embracing the concept of 無知の知 (the knowledge of ignorance).
In a tweet by tkgshn on August 6, 2021, it is suggested that exceptional Intellectual production may be akin to the horizon, rather than a finite concept. If we consider the red portion as "what we know," as we learn and expand our knowledge, the red portion also grows proportionally, while the black portion (our cognitive range) expands. The phrase "the more we learn, the more we realize how much we don't know" seems to capture this idea.
