Sequencer
In the Optimism network, also known as L2, there are individuals called "sequencers" who store and execute user-submitted transactions locally. To become a sequencer, one must lock ETH on the Ethereum blockchain. If a sequencer engages in fraudulent behavior, their locked funds can be confiscated, and the person who discovers the fraud can receive a reward. This is a feature of Optimistic Rollup tkgshn.icon*14. Sequencers contribute Computer Resources, such as processing power, to the network tkgshn.icon. Alternatively, they may pool their funds (ETH) tkgshn.icon. This is similar to a banking system, and in the context of Retroactive Public Goods Funding Giving Exit to Public Goods (OSS) #6100363209c5f20000af8f66, it could refer to earning interest on deposited funds. The mention of "long term, the results oracle can be funded by protocol fees" suggests that funding for the network can be sustained through various means, such as protocol fees collected through sequencer auctions if implemented by an L2 project.
