In user interface domain, people often use affordance as a Signifier. signifier is defined by Don Norman. Norman uses the word of affordance as an object’s properties that show the possible actions users can take with it. but finally, he said it was his misunderstanding. so then he defines the "induced affordance" as a signifier.
