How to travel abroad with your VLS-TS

Your long stay visa is now valid as your residence permit. You can travel freely within the Schengen Area for short stays. If you leave the Schengen Area, you can re-enter without having to request a new visa.

How to renew your residence permit

If you would like to renew your residence permit, you must go to your local prefecture two months before your VLS-TS expires to submit a request for renewal. For your request for renewal to be accepted, you must have validated your VLS-TS and have your personal ID number as a foreign national residing in France.
