What are some projects developing DID protocols?
Ontology brings trust, privacy, and security to Web 3.0 through decentralized identity and data solutions. They are developing a comprehensive ID infrastructure, including an ID wallet that makes it easy to create digital IDs, a composable cross-chain reputation protocol, and a DeFi protocol that enables unsecured lending using decentralized IDs and self-sovereign reputation. For more information on Ontology, click here. Bright ID is a social identity network that can prove that you only use one account. Creating a digital ID is as easy as installing the app and participating in identity verification with a connected party. You can enjoy the benefits of your unique ID directly from the app. For more information on BrightID, click here. Idena is the first proof-of-person blockchain based on the principles of democracy. All users have a cryptographic ID and are one human with equal voting rights and mining income. Anyone who operates an Idena validator node can start mining Idena. You do not need to disclose personal data to confirm that you are a unique human (no KYC required). You participate in a series of flip tests (CAPTCHAs made by humans) to verify that you are a unique human. For more information on Idena, click here. Serto is a decentralized identity platform that enables anyone to exchange data in a private, scalable, and trustworthy way. You can easily verify the issuer of any data. Convert free-form data into verifiable credentials, issue them to partners and customers, and integrate data from other parties into your processes - all in a trustworthy way. Learn more about Serto. Gitcoin connects a community that develops digital public goods, creates economic freedom, and defines the future of the open web. With this passport, you can use the same ID you use in Gitcoin Grants to prove your identity in integrated dApps and earn rewards. Learn more about Gitcoin. Idena is the first proof-of-person blockchain based on democratic principles. All users have a cryptographic identity - one person with equal voting power and mining income. Anyone who operates an Idena validator node can start mining Idena. You don't need to disclose personal data to prove that you are a unique human being (there is no KYC). Participate in the verification ceremony and solve a series of flip tests (artificial CAPTCHA). Learn more about Idena.
DFINITY's "Internet Identity" may also apply. There is also a project called ID2020. Major companies such as Microsoft and consulting firm Accenture are working with the United Nations, NGOs, and national governments to provide a means for people without IDs to prove their existence, from child vaccination cards to voter registration cards. Until now, systems for proving identity have usually been based on existing technologies such as the Internet. However, "ID2020" is focusing on the potential of blockchain. In an upcoming pilot program, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) will incorporate its biometric authentication system into blockchain. The plan is to use it to manage the movement and transactions of goods, such as providing shelter, food, and money transfers.
