Descriptions
In Global Issues A, students will be introduced to various topics on social issues in the news media.
In this course, students will improve the four skills of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking by discussing topics that are recognized and shared throughout the world.
This class will be taught in the medium of English.
Objectives
You will read, listen to, or watch video about important topics.
These topics will be the basis of what you speak or write.
You will become more aware of some of the challenges faced by people in the world and apply what you have read or watched in guided discussion with classmates.
The main objective in Global Issues A is for you to gain knowledge about the issues upon which human society depends.
You will gain a foundation in media literacy.
Outcomes

Course notes prerequisites
Students must earn a score of 60% or more and be in attendance for 2/3 of classes in order to pass.
この授業の履修を希望する者は必ず初回授業に出席すること。
このクラスの履修者数の上限は40名であり、初回授業出席者が40名を超えた場合は、初回授業において選抜(抽選)を行う。
初回授業において選抜が実施された場合、その後の履修者の受け入れは行わない。
なお、状況に応じて3年生以上の履修登録が優先される場合がある(ただし初回授業への出席は必須)。
Students wanting to take this class must attend from the first lesson.
The maximum number of students for this class is 40.
If the number of students hoping to register in the first lesson exceeds 40, students will be chosen (by lottery).
If the holding of a lottery in the first lesson becomes necessary, class registration will not be automatic.
Depending on the situation, 3rd and 4th year students wanting to register for the class will be given priority (but only those who attend the first class).
Preparation and review
Homework requirements will be explained in the first week.
