8人のチェリストが円を描くように配置されて、旋律とバックボーンが円の両方向に演奏されて行きます。オーディエンスは周囲だけでなく、その中に入っても良いとM.ゴードンは言っていますね。
円状配置パターン同一楽器編成は彼の傑作、6人のパーカッショニストの「ティンバー」を思い出しますね
