How can I download images of manuscripts?

Some libraries, like BSB are super nice and allow an easy download. However, others not. What can you then do?
IIIF
Today, libraries often use so-called IIIF format to make their images accessible for other libraries. The key part of this format is so-called "manifest.json" - a little file that contains addresses of all images of a manuscript. Once you get this little file, you can use, e.g., IIIF downloader by Liz Fischer or direct upload to Transkribus.
Sequentially named images
If images are titled like IMG_001.jpg, IMG_002.jpg etc., use batch downloading, e.g.
DownThemAll! (https://www.downthemall.net)
Zoomable images split into tiles
Sometimes an image is split into many tiles and if you try to save it, you save just one little piece of it.
If this happens, try Dezoomify.
