a person who thinks all the time, has nothing to think about except thoughts. And so, loses touch with reality. And lives in a world of illusions.
Wanting to overcome the quaking mess, is precisely is the quaking mess itself!
the thing that we object to about our ourselves, is precisely what we do about overcoming it. The activity we imploy in overcoming it, is the mess.
there is nothing we can do to be anything else than what we are. To feel any other way than we feel at this moment.
The you that you imagine is capable of changing yourself, doesn't exist. In other words an ego, an 'I', seperate from my emotions, my thoughts, my feelings and my experiences - who is supposed to be in control of them... Cannot control them - because it isn't there. And as soon as you understand that, things will be vastly improved.
your ego is an image of yourself. It's composed of what people have told you about yourself - who you are, how they've reacted to you and given you an impression that's the sort of person you are. All your education, style of life, and so far. It's an image ... An idea... It's your thought about yourself. And I suppose yourself is in fact - not this. But is, to begin with, tour total physical organism. Your psychological organism. And beyond that - an organism doesn't exist as a separate or isolated thing. We are inseperable from a huge social and natural context. There no way of drawing a boundary between this organism and everything that surrounds it. And yet our image of ourselves that we have does not include all of those relationships.
