Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Kansas City Chiefs Week 9
Coming into Week 9, the Kansas City Chiefs are the only NFL team with a 100% record in 2024.
They’re 7-0, with a pretty good chance of making it 9-0 on Monday, November 4 when they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Arrowhead.
If they pull it off, it’s going to be their best start to the season since 2013.
The Bucs vs. Chiefs odds suggest they’ll do it on Monday night with no major problems.
The thing is that only twice this season have they defeated someone by such a large margin.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers are Still Undefeated at Arrowhead
Believe it or not, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are still without a single loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in games played at Arrowhead Stadium.
Truth be told, they only played there three times so far, most recently in 2016.
They did play the Chiefs in Florida three times since the start of the decade, losing two of those.
In the most recent duel between these two, the boys from Kansas City won 41:31.
This happened two years ago, and the game is remembered for the brilliant output of the Bucs quarterback at the time, Tom Brady.
But the GOAT is no longer there. Instead, their quarterback in 2024 is Baker Mayfield.
He’s no Brady, but he’s been doing alright.
Mayfield has thrown for 21 touchdowns so far, which is more than any quarterback in the league.
He’s also thrown for 2,189 yards already, which makes him the No. 2 QB in the league when yardage is concerned.
However, he’s also thrown nine interceptions this season, which is a concern.
On the bright side for him, the Chiefs don’t tend to intercept too many passes – their defense has only made 5 interceptions so far. https://baskadia.com/post/8jqsx Kansas City Chiefs Planning to Break Some Records
Three more wins and the Chiefs will break their record for the best start to the season.
This seems achievable given that they’ve got two relatively easy games on the schedule (vs. Buccaneers and Broncos) before traveling to Buffalo to play against the Bills.
Beating the Bucs is a must, especially given that the game is played at Arrowhead.
They owe it to their fans who would like nothing better than to witness a Patrick Mahomes show.
The best quarterback in the NFL has been doing alright in 2024, although he could be a little bit more productive.
He’s thrown for only two TDs in the last three games, which just isn’t enough for a player of such passing abilities.
Further, he’s got some fantastic receivers to throw the ball to.
Tight end Travis Kelce is his favorite target, although Taylor Swift’s boyfriend has only scored one receiving TD this season.
Wide receivers Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice scored more than him (3 and 2, respectively).
WR JuJu Smith-Schuster has also scored one passing TD, and so has offensive tackle Wanya Morris.
Then, there’s DeAndre Hopkins, a legendary WR who made his Kansas City debut last weekend and who’s eager to start scoring.
With such receivers, Mahomes is bound to get more productive anytime soon.
But even if the passing game fails the Chiefs, they’ve got nothing to worry about. With Kareem Hunt, Isiah Pacheco, and Carson Steele, their ground game looks incredible.
