Handball National Team Defender Han Mi-seul: "We will Show All the Plays we have Prepared"
South Korea women's national handball team player Han Mi-seul has expressed her determination ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Han Mi-seul, who first wore the Taegeuk mark at the age of 20, said about the upcoming Olympics, "This Olympics is the biggest competition for me," and "I will try to enjoy it rather than feel pressured."
She added, "I expect every game to be a really tough fight.
If we can show all the plays we have prepared and created despite the difficulties, we have a good chance."
With her outstanding defensive skills, she has been the pillar of the team in Samcheok Market and has greatly contributed to achieving two consecutive league championships.
As all the top goal scorers are participating in this Olympics, she is expected to be a solid supporter in defense.
In particular, she ranked high in most defensive indicators such as 15 steals, 28 shot blocks, and 14 rebounds in the Shinhan SOL Pay 23-24 Handball H-League that ended last April.
In addition, she showed a physical fight that did not give in to the opposing pivot throughout the league.
Perhaps because of this, she confessed that she had higher expectations than anyone else for the European training camp.
She expressed her satisfaction, saying, "To be honest, the physical fights with European players are more intense than those with domestic players.
I realized what we lacked while competing this time."
Han Mi-seul once went through a difficult ordeal.
Han Mi-seul, who had retired due to injury, is famous for overcoming crises by returning last season and joining the national team.
That is why she always emphasizes, “It is important to enjoy the Olympics without injury.”
She encouraged her juniors by saying, “Regardless of winning or losing, we have to give it our all.
Showing our best is the secret to having fun playing.”
Finally, Han Mi-seul said, “I will try to understand the European players’ play a little faster and teach it to my juniors so that they can prepare in advance.” https://bitbin.it/CXIktvI6/ She added, “I know that the people have high expectations because women’s handball is the only ball game in this Olympics.
Rather than feeling burdened, I will think of it as interest and try to show the play we have developed.”
