Baltimore Ravens vs Cleveland Browns Week 8
The Baltimore Ravens (5-0) are clear favorites to win, with oddsmakers giving them a 10-point advantage over the Cleveland Browns (1-6).
The main reason is that the Ravens won their last five games, while the Browns did just the opposite.
Will the Baltimore Ravens Cover the 10-Point Spread in Week 8?
The Ravens have every right to feel good about their chances this season.
They’re playing like a team that could win the Conference
Their quarterback Lamar Jackson last season’s MVP has thrown for 1,810 passing yards this season, which makes him the 5th-best QB in the league. https://payhip.com/b/sb1m9 He’s tied for second when it comes to the number of passing touchdowns (15), and he also has two rushing TDs on his record.
Speaking of rushing, Baltimore’s new running back Derrick Henry has been nothing short of sensational, with 704 yards gained so far and 8 touchdowns scored.
Baltimore’s defense, on the other hand, hasn’t been as great.
They’re conceding 25.7 points per game in the 2024 NFL, which makes their defense the 6th-worst in the league.
That’s really strange because last season, they had the best defensive team, with an average of just 16.2 points allowed.
If they can up their defensive game, we’re certain that the Ravens will demolish the Browns, covering the 10-point spread along the way.
So, can they pull it off? Well, that also depends on how well the Browns will perform on Sunday.
Cleveland Browns Aren’t as Bad as Their 2024 Record Suggests
The Browns lost each of their last five games, but in four of those games, they lost by no more than 7 points.
In their most recent outing, their AFC North rivals, the Bengals, beat them 21:14.
Let’s start with bad news – the Browns starting quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon injury.
This doesn’t necessarily mean a disaster for the Browns as 2024 was a very poor season for the guy.
In fact, some Browns fans were spotted cheering Watson’s injury.
His replacement in the Week 8 game against the Ravens is likely to be Jameis Wilson, who, despite spending limited time only on the field last weekend, managed to get himself a passing TD.
Now, here’s the real good news for the Browns – their star running back Nick Chubb is back.
After missing almost the entire 2023 season, as well as the first seven game weeks of the 2024 NFL, Chubb made his return last weekend.
The best thing is that he scored a rushing TD upon his return.
