Demolition, including forced removal, frequently occurs in slums. In doing so, partial demolition is carried out while preserving as much of the existing space as possible, and as a result, the existing space is often converted into a different function/meaning through demolition, resulting in ambiguity in space.

スラムでは、強制撤去を含む解体が頻繁に起こる。その際、できる限り既存を残して部分的な解体を行うため、しばしば既存の空間が解体によって別の機能／意味へと転換され、結果的に空間の多義性が生まれる。
