hobby is something you are passionate about and like to do, pass time is something you do in free time just to pass some time, it need not be something you are passionate about.
hobbyはあなたがそれについて熱中し、することが好きなものです。pastimeはあなたが自由時間にただ時間を潰すため行うもので、情熱的である必要はありません。
