Masaru Tainaka | 對中優
東京生まれ。現代美術作家、VJ。
ネットワークやソフトウェアが人々の生活や文化に及ぼす今日的な影響を調査・考察し、そこで立ち現れる特有の状況や感覚を空間へと変換するかたちで、彫刻やインスタレーションを中心に制作を行っている。特に、ポストインターネットおよびポストヒューマニズム以後の不在感覚や、イメージと想像によって編成される身体に関心を寄せる。見知らぬ他者や遠隔地との接続を前提として発達してきたテクノロジーが、接触や距離、存在のあり方をどのように変化させてきたのかについて、展示空間の中で物質的形態として立ち上げることを試みている。

Contemporary, Mixed media artist and VJ based in Tokyo.
His practice centers on sculpture and installation, investigating the contemporary impact of networks and software on human life and culture. Through research and reflection, he translates the unique conditions and sensibilities emerging from these technologies into spatial and material forms. He is particularly interested in the sense of absence that characterizes the post-internet and posthuman condition, as well as bodies constituted through images and imagination. His work explores how technologies developed around the premise of connection with distant places and unknown others have transformed notions of contact, distance, and presence, attempting to materialize these shifts within the exhibition space.
