An Open School within an (Memu) Open Campus.

We are currently developing 0 to 99 Learning in Memu Open Research Campus and Urakawa Friend Forest School.

Since 2024, memu earth lab and Urakawa Friend Forest School has signed a Collaborative Research Agreement.

#Sound map making of the area around the school during the day. Imagining the night sound of the school and drawing a night map. Setting a recorder over night, checking the next day to see the imagined to the reality, drawing the map of real night sound over the imagined night sound map using onomatompe. Heading to the forest to play with sound of acorns and drawing.

Soil sampling of the school environment on the field, river, and garden. Discussion onto geological formation of the river bank, the use of clay for art activities. Arrangement of everyday objects in the environmenet as an exhibition/boards. Storytelling and potential group work role playing.

Observation day without engaging. Discussion on when to start engage local indigenous knowledge (via a Ainu person) in balance with multiple time of self trials and learning feedbacks.

Winter session @ Memu to explore, #walking , #sensory_description

Walking with no maps in the winter forest, no sight snow walking, moonwalking during the full moon

Observing the snow with microscope and painting the snow using color, literal "painting the snow"

Listening to the snow exercise, staying still and deeper listening to see what you can hear; developing the skill of listening. Heading to the Kimonto iced river and observing insect in the ice, tool disfunctioning for ice drilling.
