On Space, Professions, and Parties as Poetic Technologies
https://gyazo.com/df345ab24d3f21e40ca90d3d7b4882b9
This research investigates the appearance and interfacing of poetic technologies in the everyday through such elements as the act of selecting tracks, the profession of DJ and event organizer, and the spatiality of a club event. Poetic technologies is a term coined by the late David Graeber, referring to the mobilization of knowledge for implementing self-indulgent fantasies that may seem impossible, as opposed to bureaucratic technologies that only permit things that adhere to the rules. The research methodology comprises interviews with DJs and club event organizers and the creation of a kit for exploring the possibilities of parties while wandering around the city.
