Group and Subject set up and Note Organization
Set-up Overview
Teacher group/class setup: only have to do this once
We recommend teachers use one note for all lessons in a unit
We recommend students use one note for all My Math Notes within a unit
MMNs can be centralized and students can look back on them immediately.
Teachers Group & Subjects set up
Group: *Group Name*
Subject: "Math"
Note: *Unit 01 Unit Name*
Student participation set up
Enter class code
Choose Subject: “Math”
Make new note: *Unit 01 Unit Name*
Step-by-Step Instruction
For Teacher
Step 1:
Teachers open their group menu on the left.

TIP: If your screen opens to the desktop, select “back” to get to the subject menu

Step 2:
Select "Add Subject" (group)

Select “Create New Group”

Step 4:
Enter a name for your class EX: “Ms. Smith 4th Grade”
Select “ok”
You may get a pop-up message after selecting “ok”- Just close it.

Step 5:
Create a subject name. This is any subject you are using LoiLoNote for. EX: “Math”
Select “Create”, “ok”, “close” and “close” one more time on the top left of the “add subject” box.
This will bring you back to the main note page.

Step 6:
You now have your class name and subject in your subject menu. Please click on it to create notes.

Adding Students to the Group/Class: This only has to be done once.
Step 1:
Teacher Selects “Add subject”, selects their class name, selects “class code”

Step 2:
Student signs into their own account and selects “enter class code” in their group/subject menu on the left.

Step 3:
Students enter the five-digit number generated by the teacher account and select “ok” and “ok” once more to be let into the class.

Step 4:
Now students can see the class and subject on their subject menu. Please select to create new note for the “math” class.

Organizing Content for the Class/Group
Step 1:
Teacher opens the class subject note (in this case “Ms. Smith 4th Grade” > “math”) and selects “new note” on the top left and titles that note “unit # ‘name’”.
Select “ok”

Step 2:
Students can create a new note by copying step 1 on their own account.

Step 3:
Teachers can then go to “Materials” and open the lesson as they normally would.
From here they can send the My Math Note (MMN) to students for the lesson.

Student Note Organization
Step 1:
When the lesson is over. Students can save MMN to their personal materials by clicking on MMN
selecting “send”

Step 2:
Students will be given the opportunity to name their MMN when they select “save to folder”.
TIP: “unit name, lesson name” is a useful naming convention so students can find their note in the future.

Sudents can also keep their MMN on the desktop to refer to easily in the next lesson.

TIP: For the next lesson in this unit, students can open the same class and unit note to receive the MMN from teachers. All MMN will be saved for the student in their unit note in Materials > personal folder
TIP: to reference past MMN, students only have to click “materials” > “personal” > Relevant MMN > “use”. Once familiar with this process, it will take students 10 seconds or less to open the MMN from a previous lesson.
