【Test Cards】School-wide Tests with Test Cards: End-of-Year Test Administration

LoiLoNote School’s Test Card can also be used for school-wide tests conducted simultaneously across multiple classes.

Based on the example from Teacher Osamu Nomura at Momoe Junior High School in Fukuchiyama City, Kyoto Prefecture, this guide explains key points for using Test Cards when conducting tests for an entire grade.

This example shows how Test Cards were used for an end-of-year comprehensive review test conducted simultaneously across all classes.

Preparation Before the Test

Creating Questions

Test Cards were created using questions from the National Assessment of Academic Ability.

Test Card Settings

Test Cards for each subject were sent to each Class.

Use “Copy this Test Card” to create separate Test Cards for each Class, and name each Card using the subject name and Class name.

Turn off the display of test results.

Test Procedure

STEP 1: Prepare the Test Environment

Use Apple Classroom or a similar tool to prevent Students from using apps other than LoiLoNote School, and have Students open LoiLoNote School.

Confirm that all Students have joined the Subject where the test will be conducted.

Display test instructions on the monitor, such as:

Place the tablet flat on the desk.

Do not press the “Submit Answers” button until instructed by the Teacher.

STEP 2: Conduct the Test

When the test begins, use the “Answer Together” function to switch all Students’ screens to the Test Card screen and start the test.

Questions and choices can include both text and images, allowing questions with graphs and diagrams to be created. Free-response questions can also be included.

STEP 3: Finish the Test

When time is up, the Teacher stops the “Answer Together” function and ends the test responses.

Completed Test Cards for each Class and subject are saved in the Material Box for collection.

Questions other than free-response questions are automatically graded, allowing results to be displayed in real time.

Paperless testing and automatic grading reduce the time and effort required for printing tests and grading, helping reduce Teacher workload.

Improving Response Rates

Because responses can be set as required, Students cannot leave questions blank. This helps improve response rates and Students’ motivation to answer.

Preventing Cheating

When used together with Apple Classroom or similar tools, Students can be prevented from using apps other than LoiLoNote School. Since only Test Card answering functions are available in LoiLoNote School during the test, online cheating can be prevented.
