We alwasy buy all seeds from "Noguchi no Tane" that specialty seed store in Saitama, Japan.
The current owner, Mr. Noguchi, is the third generation.
Mr Noguchi's store is the only seed shop in Japan that specializes in "true breed" (open pollinated variety, native species).
Currently, most of the seed sold in Japan are F1(First Filial Generation) seed.

F1 hybrids may not always be harvested same type for next generation(F2).
There is no doubt that F1 hybrids are the current mainstream of agriculture, which requires stable yields and homogenization of agricultural products. The F1 hybrids, which are easy to grow and receive for everyone, will never cease.
However, Japan has a low seed self-sufficiency rate in the first place, and most of the seeds are produced overseas. In the current situation where abnormal weather is reported all over the world, if such a thing happens in the seed production area and the crop fails, as a result, it will not be possible to grow vegetables in Japan.
In that sense, true breed suitable for the national climate also play an important role in terms of seed self-sufficiency and conservation. Fortunately, in Japan, where the seasons and climates are diverse, more and more people are trying to protect the true breed peculiar to the local area and leave them for posterity.
Mr. Noguchi sells seeds of true breed that can be harvested by ourself.
I sympathize with his thinking, So we use it.

↑ Indigo flower!
I want to get indigo seeds in this winter and plant indigo again next spring.
Also, the indigo dry leaves still can used as a dye.
