For this work, the orchestra is divided into 3 'groups', each producing a different kind of music. The strings, along with the clarinets and flutes, play sustained tones, quietly and full of imperfections. The brass and double-reed instruments interrupt twice with a blast of sound, once at the beginning of the piece and once nearer the end. The percussion instruments, some of them quite exotic, play notes that are scattered over the duration of the work. 1O1 should be performed without conductor, although a conductor could well serve as a rehearsal coach. The work was composed using flexible time-brackets, and consists only of parts (no overall score). Note that the title of this work is 1O1, i.e. the number one, followed by capital (letter) O, followed by the number one (not 101, i.e. one zero one).
この作品では、オーケストラを3つの「グループ」に分け、それぞれが異なる種類の音楽を奏でます。弦楽器、クラリネット、フルートは、静かで不完全な音を持続的に奏でます。金管楽器とダブルリードの楽器は、曲の最初と最後の2回、音の爆発で中断します。打楽器は、その中には非常にエキゾチックなものもありますが、作品の持続時間中に散在する音を演奏します。1O1は指揮者なしで演奏されるべきだが、指揮者はリハーサルコーチとして十分に役立つだろう。この作品は、柔軟な時間軸を用いて作曲されており、パート譜のみで構成されています（総譜はありません）。この作品のタイトルは「1O1」、つまり数字の「1」、大文字の「O」、数字の「1」（「101」ではなく、「one zero one」）であることに注意してください。
